Who was Nati Binodini?

Born in a family of sex workers, Binodini Dasi started doing theater at the age of 12. He earned a name at a very young age and is known as one of the most celebrated stars of Bengali theatre. She was popularly known as Noti Binodini. In a short career of just 11 years, she played more than 80 roles including Sita, Draupadi, Radha, Ayesha, Kaikeyi, Motibibi and Kapalkundala under the guidance of Girish Chandra Ghosh.

Expressing happiness about this film, Kangana said, ‘I have been a big fan of Pradeep Sarkar ji and I am very happy to get this opportunity. Also this will be my first film with Prakash Kapadia ji. I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of this remarkable journey with these people. The film is written by Prakash Kapadia who has written the story of films like ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, ‘Padmavat’, ‘Devdas’ and ‘Black’.

Kangana is now working on her directorial venture ‘Emergency’. Apart from this, Kangana’s another film Tejas is also in the pipeline in which she will play the role of an Air Force pilot.
