Rohit Sharma-Rahul Dravid Review Meeting Postpone: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has postponed the review meeting with captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid till December. Rohit and Dravid must have heaved a sigh of relief with this decision of the board. Apart from the new Cricket Advisory Committee, the BCCI will wait for the selection committee to take over. Now this meeting will happen after the series between India and Bangladesh. The new Cricket Advisory Committee will take charge in the second week of December. Whereas by the end of December, the new selection committee will start working. Before India’s tour of Bangladesh, the board was to have a review meeting with Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid in Mumbai.
Review meeting will be held later
Speaking to InsideSports, a senior BCCI official said, “We have decided to have a meeting later. Because planning for the next World Cup should have input from two important stakeholders. After he takes over, we will talk to Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid about how to go ahead. Apart from this, there is no T20 series for the next 15 days. India will play the next series from Sri Lanka. Before that we will have both the CAC and the new selection committee.
Rohit will remain captain till the World Cup
The senior BCCI official further said, our main problem is the absence of the Cricket Advisory Committee. Only RP Singh and Sulakshana Naik are left in the CAC. Because Madanlal left the post after the T20 World Cup 2021 citing the age of 70 years. The selection committee cannot be announced without the CAC. That’s why there is a need to appoint a Cricket Advisory Committee before the selection committee is selected. According to the official, the CAC will shortlist the applications for the selection committee and call the candidates for the interview. We believe that the CAC is not working at the moment. But we will start it soon. The BCCI official said, as far as Rohit Sharma is concerned, he will remain the captain of the Indian team till the 2023 ODI World Cup.
