After the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of October 18, the board has revealed how much they have earned in the last three years.
BCCI earned Rs 5600 crore in three years
In 2019, BCCI had Rs 3400 crore, but now they have a total of Rs 9000 crore. This means that the board has earned Rs 5600 crore in the last three years. The main part of this earning has come from the Indian Premier League. The board successfully organized the IPL despite the pandemic. After the withdrawal of main title sponsor Vivo for the 2020 season, the board had tied up with Dream XI for a season of Rs 222 crore. The board has also consistently earned money from bilateral series.
BCCI has made big money by selling the broadcast rights of IPL
BCCI has sold the media rights of IPL this year. From this he has earned about 50 thousand crores. For the first time, TV and digital rights have been sold separately. While Star has retained the broadcast rights of TV, Viacom-18 has won for digital. From the upcoming season, the board is going to get more than Rs 100 crore for a match of IPL.
