‘Can’t win the World Cup on the strength of one player’, ex-cricketer’s statement on Virat Kohli’s innings

Madan Lal on T20 WC 2022: Madan Lal, who was a member of the 1983 World Cup winning team, has an interesting reaction on Virat Kohli’s innings played against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022 (T20 WC 2022). He has said that if Team India has to win the World Cup, then the whole team has to perform well, the World Cup cannot be won on the basis of one or two players.

Kohli had led the Indian team to victory on his own in the match against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. He played an unbeaten 82 off 53 balls. On this, Madan Lal, former cricketer and coach of Team India, said, ‘Virat Kohli’s innings was amazing. I’ve never seen such an innings but he can’t win you every match. This is a very big tournament. It cannot be won by performance of one person.

Madan Lal said, ‘Rohit Sharma and Lokesh Rahul have to raise the level of their game. Everyone needs to make sure that they are giving their best performance and effort at all times.

‘The job is not done yet’
Madan Lal also said that the victory achieved by India against Pakistan is commendable. But there is no laxity in such a big tournament. He said, ‘India’s work is not done yet. The World Cup has just started. Teams like Netherlands are also not weak. Any team can beat any team in T20. Only when you win the World Cup can you say that the mission is accomplished.
