CNG-PNG Price: CNG costlier by Rs.6/Kg and PNG by Rs.4/unit in Mumbai, new prices applicable from night


CNG-PNG Price Hike : In Mumbai, gas distribution company Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has increased the prices of both CNG and PNG. From tonight, the price of CNG in Mumbai has been increased by Rs 6 per kg. Apart from this, the prices of LPG supplied through piped PNG have been increased by Rs 4 per unit. These new prices will be applicable from Monday midnight.

After this decision, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), used as fuel in vehicles in Mumbai and surrounding areas, will now start getting expensive. The retail price of CNG has increased to Rs 86 per kg. At the same time, the price of domestic PNG has gone up to Rs 52.50 per SCM.

This public sector company MGL says that the government has increased gas prices by 40 percent from October 1. Due to this the company has to take this step. The government had announced a massive 40 per cent hike in the prices of domestically produced gas for the next six months from October 1. Earlier on April 1, gas prices were increased by 110 per cent citing international prices.

Difference between petrol and CNG
The government revises gas prices twice a year on 1 April and 30 September. But Mumbai MGL says that after this hike, the price savings between CNG and petrol has come down to 45 per cent. At the same time, this difference between PNG and LPG has remained only 11 percent.

Now the price will increase in Delhi
Let us tell you that Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), a retailer of CNG and PNG in the national capital Delhi, is required to increase the price of CNG by Rs 8 per kg.
