Tripurasura asked for a boon that when the three puris made for us are in a row in the Abhijit Nakshatra and someone who is very angry, very calm and wants to kill them with an impossible arrow riding on an impossible chariot, then only then we should die. Brahma ji said aastu. After this Tripurasur became very powerful and his terror increased. Wherever he went, he used to torture all the good men. Even the gods were suffering from his terror. No one could defeat him in the war.

Lord Shiv Killed Tripurasur

In the end, all the gods, sages and sages, after getting upset, reached the shelter of Lord Shiva. When everyone told their grief to Mahadev, they asked the gods to face Tripurasur by giving half their strength, but not all the gods could handle the power of Lord Shiva. After this, Shambhu himself resolved to kill Tripurasur. After this the gods dedicated half their force to Shiva.

Such preparations were made for the killing of Tripurasur

God made the earth the chariot, the sun-moon became the wheels, the creator became the charioteer, Lord Vishnu became the arrow, Vasuki became the bow of the bow and Meruparvat became the bow. Then Lord Shiva rode on that impossible chariot and shot an arrow on the impossible bow and attacked Tripurasur as soon as the three Puris came in a row in Abhijit Nakshatra. As soon as the attack was struck, all the three puris were burnt to ashes and Tripurasur came to an end. Since then Shiva is also called Tripurari.
