Digital Infrastructure In India : The central government has taken a big step to improve the digital infrastructure and excellent connectivity in the country. The Union Ministry of Telecom has approved the installation of 25 thousand new telecom towers in the next 500 days across the country. It is being told that a total of 26 thousand crore rupees will be spent in this project.
Bharat Broadband got the job
According to sources, the amount for the towers will be given through Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF). At the same time, the work of installing them will be done by Bharat Broadband Network Limited. These towers will be installed according to the demand in different states of the country.
Information Technology Minister approved
During the 3-day Digital India Conference of State Information Technology Ministers, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has informed about the approval of the towers. He said that connectivity is important for Digital India and its reach to every corner of the country. Congratulating all the states and union territories for swiftly joining PM Gati Shakti, he said that special assistance has been supported to the states for capital expenditure of Rs.2000 crores.
Startups will be in Tier-2 cities
On the third day of the conference, the Ministry of Electronics and IT focused on attracting and retaining startups in Tier 2 cities, harnessing emerging technology in public services, making India a land of talent, building digital good governance in states and Make-in-India. Organized 5 panel discussions titled For the Globe-India is a semiconductor nation.
Startups will get a boost in Tier-1 cities
Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and IT, says that the Government of India is committed to promoting technology startups going beyond Tier 1 cities. He emphasized on state level cooperation, start-up friendly policies and incentives to create a start-up ecosystem moving towards prosperity. He also emphasized on data driven decision making and data and process driven innovations using AI, Blockchain, Drones, IoT etc. mentioning the emerging technology.
