Electric Vehicle Indian Army : The Indian Army is going to start using electric vehicles for ground transport very soon in the country. These e-vehicles will be deployed in peace stations. Going to buy buses, cars, motorcycles in the e-vehicles used for the army.

The Indian Army is planning to use 38 percent buses, 25 percent cars and 48 percent motorcycles in electric vehicles. Tender for the purchase of 60 electric buses is going to be issued by the army soon. 24 fast chargers have also been purchased for their charging. This initiative of the army will not only reduce pollution, but will also save the expenditure on fuel.

An Indian Army officer has informed that all electric vehicles will be procured from the capital Delhi. The use of electric vehicles has started in the Indian Army even now as a civil higher transport. Charging stations have been built in Delhi Cantt, so that electric vehicles can be charged. Presently these charging stations set up in Delhi Cantt area are being used by common citizens.

According to sources, charging points have been set up for onboard charging in military offices as well as residential complexes. Adequate capacity electric cables and transformers have been arranged in these stations. The military’s goal is to reduce carbon emissions. There are plans to build solar powered charging stations in different phases. The army is going to include electric vehicles in its fleet very soon.

Let us tell you that in April 2022, the army had demonstrated electric vehicles in front of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. The exhibition featured vehicles from several giants in the auto sector including Tata Motors, Revolt Motors and Perfect Metal Industries (PMI). The armies of many countries of the world are using EV or hybrid model vehicles for transportation. Along with this, some countries are also working towards manufacturing Lithium Battery or Hydrogen-powered tanks.
