T20 World Cup 2022: A day before Diwali, the Indian team gave the gift of Diwali to the fans by winning the match against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022. Even after starting with a victory in the T20 World Cup, Team India canceled the grand party of Diwali. While giving a message to the team, head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma said that there is no need to celebrate the victory against Pakistan much.
Seniors gave advice
Speaking to The Indian Express, a member of the team’s sports staff said, “In the post-match meeting, the players were asked to move on and keep the team’s tall goals in mind. It’s a good start and the team needs to build it up from here. The tournament isn’t over yet, so try to stay on the ground.”
The party was organized by the Indian Embassy
The Indian Embassy in Sydney had organized a grand party for the Indian team for Diwali. On the special occasion of Diwali, Sydney’s iconic Opera House in Sydney was decorated with red paint. But after the advice of the seniors, the players decided to cancel the party. Let us tell you that the wife and children of the players were also to attend this party. But nothing like this happened.
After a Viraat Sunday, Sydney all geared up to witness Grand Diwali! Celebrations begin with lighting of iconic @SydOperaHouse in Crimson Red. Diwali celebrated among players in Sydney
Team India reached Sydney the next day after the victory. There some players of the team went out to do gym and some players liked to go to dinner with family. At the same time, most of the players decided to celebrate Diwali on their own. On the next day i.e. Tuesday, the team practiced fiercely.
