Ganga Vilas Cruise: The world’s longest river cruise journey from Kashi, know from where to where

Varanasi-Dibrugarh Cruise: Now soon you are going to get the experience of river cruise travel in India like abroad. The world’s longest river cruise journey from Kashi in Uttar Pradesh will start from January 10, 2023. The journey of 3200 km from Varanasi to Dibrugarh will be covered in about 50 days. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from Ravidas Ghat in Varanasi Yogi Adityanath (CM Yogi Adityanath) has released the time table of Ganga Vilas Cruise.

Travel will stop at world heritage sites
This 50-day journey will pass through 27 river systems of India and Bangladesh and will stop at more than 50 important places, including World Heritage Sites. The vessel will also pass through national parks and sanctuaries, including the Sundarbans Delta and Kaziranga National Park. Passengers should not be troubled in this long journey, so facilities like songs, music, cultural programs, gym etc. will be available on the cruise.

3200 km journey in 50 days
Ravikant, Chief Engineer of the Inland Waterways Authority of India, says that Ganga Vilas is the first vessel made in India. It is fully secured with modern facilities. In this cruise, the journey of 3200 kilometers carrying 80 tourists will be completed in 50 days.

Cruise will pass through these routes
Ravikant says that this journey will be the longest journey in the world by a single vessel. The Ganga Vilas vessel will have 18 suites. Ganga Vilas Cruise will start its journey from Varanasi and will reach Patna on 8th day passing through Buxar, Ramnagar, Ghazipur. From Patna it will reach Kolkata on the 20th day. The next day it will enter the border of Bangladesh. It will remain in the waters of Bangladesh for 15 days. From there it will come to Kolkata and reach Bogibeel (Dibrugarh).

The Varanasi-Dibrugarh Cruise will be run on the Public Private Partnership Model (PPP). For this Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and Antara Luxury River Cruise and JM Baxi River Cruise have signed Memorandum of Understanding. The cost of the cruise ticket will be decided by the company running it.

Ghats of Ganges are being upgraded
Along with this, Jal Marg Vikas Project-2 (meaning Ganga) is also called. The Water Authority is developing and upgrading 62 small community ghats on the river Ganga. Of these, 15 are in UP, 21 in Bihar, 3 in Jharkhand and 23 in West Bengal. Ghats are being developed in 250 km between Varanasi and Ballia of UP.
