Global Health IPO: Coming IPO of Global Health, a company running hospital chain in the name of Medanta

Medanta Hospital IPO: The IPO of Global Health Limited, which runs a nationwide hospital chain under the brand name of Medanta, is going to be launched next week. The IPO will open on November 3, 2022 and investors will be able to apply in the IPO till Monday, November 7, 2022. Soon the company will also disclose the price band of its IPO.

Global Health Limited is going to raise Rs 500 crore through IPO fresh issue, then 5.08 shares will be sold in Offer for Sale. The existing investors and promoters of the company are going to sell their stake in the company in the offer for sale. The company will pay off the outstanding debt from the money raised through the IPO. The company will pay the debt due to Global Health Patiliputra Private Limited and Mendata Holdings Private Limited through debt or equity.

Renowned cardio surgeon Dr Naresh Trehan started the hospital chain in 2004 under the name Mendata. Mendata Hospital is a well-known name in the North and Eastern states. Global health company is invested by world’s leading private equity investors which include Carlyle and Temasek Holdings. Both hold 25.67 and 17 per cent stake through the holding company. Naresh Trehan holds 35 per cent stake. Sunil Sachdeva, co-founder of Medanta, holds 13.43 per cent and RJ Corp holds 3.95 per cent.

In the year 2021-22, the company’s revenue was Rs 2206 crore, while there was a profit of Rs 196 crore. Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, Credit Suisse Securities, Jefferies India and JM Financial are the book running lead managers of the IPO. The company will be listed on BSE and NSE on November 16, 222.
