If you have a complaint with the insurance company, do not get angry on social media, complain in the right place, you will get the solution

Insurance Complaint: Policyholders generally take to social media platforms like Twitter or Facebook to vent their anger when there are any complaints from insurance companies. In these complaints, they also tag insurance companies, but their complaint is not resolved. Some policyholders approach the call centers of insurance companies to register their complaints. There are also more Interactive Voice Response Systems (IVRS) and they can’t find a solution. Even if we talk to the customer care executive, the matter is still not resolved. If you also have a complaint with your insurance company and it is not being resolved, then you should complain at such places from where you can get concrete answers and solutions to the problems.

Approach the Insurance Ombudsman

If your insurance company is not resolving your complaints, then you can register your complaint with the Insurance Ombudsman. For this, you have to register your complaint with the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) of the Ombudsman’s Office. From the website policyholder.gov.in, you can get the email id of Grievance Redressal Officer of all companies. You send them your complaint in writing with all the necessary documents and do not forget to take its acknowledgment.

It is to be noted here that the Grievance Cell of the Ombudsman never takes into account the complaints made by a lawyer or any other person on behalf of the policyholders. Here only the complaints of policyholders are taken care of.

If you are not satisfied with the solution of the insurance company, then complain to IRDAI

The insurance company will have to resolve the complaint within 15 days from the date of registration. If you are not satisfied with the resolution of the insurance company, you can approach the Consumer Affairs Department of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). You can register your complaint by calling 155255 or 18004254732 or you can also email complaints@irdai.gov.in. You can also register your complaints against the insurance company on the Bima Bharosa portal (bimabharosa.irdai.gov.in) and know the status of your complaint.
