Sleeping In Daytime: Often we are advised to take 6 to 8 hours of sleep at night. However, it also depends on the circumstances when to take sleep. Still, a good night’s sleep will keep you fresh the next day. If you don’t get enough sleep at night, you get sleepy during the day. Do you know that sleeping during the day has a bad effect on your eyes? This has been revealed in a research. Researchers say that if this condition is more severe then the problem can increase to blindness.
Sleeping during the day can make you blind
According to a Bloomberg report, long-term problems with sleeplessness and snoring during the day increase the risk of glaucoma, ie black cataract. If this disease is not treated at the right time, then this condition can become so serious that there is also a risk of blindness i.e. blindness. According to a research published in the BMJ Open Journal, if the eyesight is lost due to glaucoma, then it does not return again. Researchers have told that people of any age can get glaucoma if they do not get enough sleep at night. This problem is common in the elderly and smokers.
11 years of research revealed
The study, conducted by the UK’s Biobank, assessed and analyzed the data of more than 4 lakh people aged between 40 and 69 years. The people included in this study were asked about their sleeping habits. In this study, which ran from 2010 to 2021, glaucoma has been found in about 8,690 people. Based on the data, the researchers found that the risk of glaucoma increased by 11 percent in people who were sleepy and snoring during the day compared to people who got plenty of sleep. At the same time, this risk increases to 13 percent in people with insomnia and short or long sleep. According to researchers, by the year 2040, about 112 million people worldwide could be affected by glaucoma.
need to sleep
Experts say that not getting enough sleep affects our decision making ability, learning ability, our behavior / temperament and our memory. Glaucoma greatly affects the optic nerve that connects the eye to the brain, due to which the sensitive cells of the eye begin to deteriorate. If treatment is not given on time, then the eyesight goes away forever.
