IRCTC Ticket Booking Rules: If you are planning for rail travel on this festive season, then it is very important for you to know this news. IRCTC has made many changes in the process of booking tickets on its app and website. Now whenever you book a ticket on the mobile app or website, you will have to verify your IRCTC account.

Mobile-e-mail verification
According to IRCTC, now users booking rail tickets will have to verify their mobile number and e-mail ID before booking online tickets. Without the verification of e-mail id and mobile number, online tickets cannot be booked. There are lakhs of such IRCTC accounts through which online ticket booking has not been done. If you have not booked tickets online for a long time, then this rule will be applicable to you too. While making the reservation for the train journey, you will have to first verify the mobile number and e-mail id.

Verification will be like this
To do the verification, first you have to go to the app or website of IRCTC. After this, write both the registered mobile number and e-mail id. After giving both the information, click on the Verify button. After clicking on the Verify button, OTP will come on the mobile phone, verify the mobile number by writing it. Similarly, OTP will come on the e-mail id, after which the verification of the e-mail id will be completed.

24 ticket booking possible from one account
Any user can book maximum 24 tickets in a month by using IRCTC app or website which earlier could only do 12. But to book 24 tickets in a month, you will have to verify the IRCTC user ID through Aadhaar.
