Mukesh Ambani Security Upgraded: The government has decided to upgrade the security of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani. The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to increase the security of Mukesh Ambani from Z to Z+. The Ministry of Home Affairs had received Intelligence Input regarding the threat to the security of Mukesh Ambani, after which the Ministry has upgraded the security cover.
Mukesh Ambani has now been given Z plus security cover, so now 58 commandos will be deployed in his security. And they will have to bear the entire cost of security. In fact, after the bomb threat at his home Antilla in Mumbai last year, there was a churning going on in the Home Ministry to increase his security. In February 2021, a Scorpio vehicle equipped with 20 gelatin sticks was found parked near Antilla. After which the NIA investigated it.
Z plus security cover is considered to be the highest category of security cover. In August, the Mumbai Police had detained Mukesh Ambani and his family members in Borivali West for threatening him. After receiving the threat call, a complaint was lodged with the police on behalf of Reliance Foundation.
In July, 2020, the Supreme Court allowed the central government to continue with the security cover for Mukesh Ambani and his family. The order of the Tripura High Court was challenged by the Central Government, after which this decision came from the court.
