The Modi government did not make any change in the dearness allowance to the central employees from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 i.e. for 18 months. In view of the moratorium on the increase in DA for 18 months, the government had made a big increase in DA of 11 percent, after which on demand from the employees, it was said by the Finance Ministry that the arrears would not be paid.
