Pension Doubles in Maharashtra: The state government has announced to give double pension to the freedom fighters who made their invaluable contribution in the freedom struggle of the country. The benefit of this pension hike will be given to those pensioners who had contributed in Marathwada Mukti Sangram and Goa Liberation War. Know how much pension will increase
After this decision of the Maharashtra government to increase the pension, many freedom fighters of the state will get its direct benefit. This will have a direct impact on the people who took part in the Marathwada and Goa liberation struggle. Earlier these freedom fighters used to get Rs 10,000 as pension every month. Now it will increase to Rs 20,000.
The state also approved many more development works.
After the pension increase decision, along with this, in the cabinet meeting, the government has also approved the decision to give benefits of Maratha quota for jobs and admission in educational institutions under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota. According to the statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, this decision will be applicable to all the state recruitments done from 9 September 2022. Along with this, the cabinet also passed the new rule for contesting elections in the Agricultural Produce Market Committee.
According to this, even if a person’s name is not in the voter list, he can stand as a candidate in the election of Agricultural Produce Market Committee. Along with this, the proposal to raise Rs 35,629 crore for road development projects was also approved. With this, the work of land acquisition for development works in the state will be expedited.
