Gurdwara Harmandir Sahib Singh, Amritsar
This Gurudwara is famous worldwide as Golden Temple. Also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib and Darbar Sahib. It is the center of the faith of the Sikhs. Attempts were made to destroy Gurdwara Harminder Sahib located in Amritsar city of Punjab many times, but due to devotion and faith, Hindus and Sikhs rebuilt it, every single incident is also depicted here. Its foundation was laid by Ramdas ji, the fourth Guru of the Sikhs. According to some sources, Guruji had laid the foundation of this Gurudwara in the year 1588 from Mian Mir, a Sufi saint of Lahore. Later Maharaja Ranjit Singh decided to make it out of gold, after which it got the name Golden Temple.
Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Ji, Anandpur Sahib
Takht Shri Kesgarh Sahib Ji Gurdwara is situated right in the middle of Anandpur Sahib. Its foundation was laid in 1689. This Gurudwara is special in many ways. It was here that the Khalsa Panth was born. Apart from this, on Baisakhi in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh ji also started the initiation of Khande di Pahul here. It has a rich and glorious history. This Gurudwara has a special role in the history of Sikhism. According to history, the Mughals were forcibly forcing the Hindus to change their religion, due to which a long war ensued. During this time the family of Guru Gobind Singh got separated. His mother Gujri got separated from her grandsons Fateh Singh and Zorawar Singh. When the Mughal soldiers caught hold of the children and asked them to convert to religion, the children refused and killed them. This Gurudwara has been built in memory of the martyrdom of the children of Guru Gobind Singh.
