Asia Cup 2023: The ruckus has already started regarding the Asia Cup to be held next year. Recently, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and President of the Asian Cricket Council, Jay Shah had given a statement that the Indian team is not going to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. After this statement made by Shah, there was a strong reaction from the Pakistan Cricket Board. Now former Pakistani veteran fast bowler Wasim Akram has also given his reaction regarding this.
Akram said, “Mr Jay Shah if you had to say something like that, you should have at least talked to our chairman and you should have definitely called a meeting of the Asian Council. You should have presented your views and then on this. It could have happened. You can’t just say that we can’t go to Pakistan. The entire council had given Pakistan the right to host the Asia Cup. It’s not right.”
PCB is threatening to leave the 2023 World Cup
PCB chairman Rameez Raja expressed his displeasure as soon as Shah had made a statement that the Indian team would not go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup next year and that the tournament would be held neutral. Raja had said that if India does not come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, then it will affect the ODI World Cup to be held in India next year. All the former Pakistani cricketers and cricket fans are constantly repeating the same thing that if India does not go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, then Pakistan should definitely refuse to play next year’s World Cup.
