Vikram Gokhale told during that time- ‘When I came to Mumbai during the days of struggle, my financial condition was not good at all. There was no roof over the head to live, he used to wander day and night in search of it. When Amitabh Bachchan came to know about this, he personally wrote a letter to the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Manohar Joshi, in which a recommendation was written for me to help the house. With the help of Big B, I got a government accommodation from the Government of Maharashtra.
