In a video shared on Twitter by ABC Sports, Alyssa Healy is seen saying, ‘It was very strange. I mean Harmanpreet can say all she likes that she was unlucky but I think she could have easily crossed the crease in the last over. This would have happened if she really tried for it.
‘It all depends on the efforts and energy’
Alyssa said, ‘You can call yourself unlucky for this thing for the rest of your life, but it really depended on your effort and your energy in that moment. And I know we talk a lot about our efforts and energy on the field. The running between the wickets was also important here. These are some simple things that win you big tournaments when you are better than the opposition team and I think we have done these things well.
Harmanpreet’s run out changed the course of the match
The Indian team was very close to victory in the semi-finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup against Australia. The Indian team needed just 40 runs off 32 balls and India had 6 wickets left. Harmanpreet was run out here after scoring 52 runs off 34 balls. Due to slow running and then not being able to keep the bat inside the crease, he had to return to the pavilion. After this, the Indian team lost back to back wickets and lost the match by 5 runs.
