Indian Cricketers in Foreign Leagues: Many questions arose after the Indian team was out of the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup held in Australia. One of these questions was why the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does not allow its players to play in foreign leagues and if they do so, they will surely get the benefit. Looking at Indian cricket, most veterans do not agree with this decision. Veterans like Zaheer Khan and Ravi Shastri have also given their reaction on allowing Indian players to play in foreign leagues.
We have everything so why take help of others- Zaheer
Former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan believes that Indian cricket has everything and he does not need to take help from others. Zaheer also agrees that Indian domestic cricket will be affected if players go to foreign leagues.
He said, “Players will learn a lot by playing in foreign leagues. This is said to be one of the main reasons. However, BCCI conducts tours from time to time and players get a chance to learn. Our bench strength is very strong and we play with the same team.” Can play by making three teams at the time.
Need to feed domestic cricket – Shastri
Former head coach Shastri says that players have a lot of opportunities to learn and they only need to keep playing domestic cricket. Shastra believes that the number of tours conducted by the BCCI A team are enough to learn. Shastri also believes that it is not necessary for the players to go and play in any other league after the IPL, but they can improve themselves from domestic cricket as well.
